Cacao contains natural chemicals that enhance your mood, libido, and your metabolism. It increases the hormone oxytocin in your brain, which is the same hormone we associate with love and sex. It is an incredibly powerful food to increase dopamine in our bodies as well, which enhances serotonin production in the body, leading to a good mood. Maca is a well known superfood to enhance the libido, in both men and women. Maca’s star quality that makes it a sexy superfood is that it balances out our hormones, helping us achieve a maximum state of happiness, longevity and energy. I love maca for its grounding properties, while also giving me sustained energy, increasing my mood, and relieving stress. Spirulina is rich in iron, Vitamin A and chlorophyll, which boost blood flow, alkalize the blood and aid in immune function. In fact, our sex hormones rely on EFAs for proper production and function. Without EFAs our libidos sag, our skin lacks that glowing luster, and our mood suffers. Flaxseed oil is rich in EFAs and you only need 1 tbsp. per day to get in a daily dose of EFAs. You can also just take 2 tbsp. ground flax per day to reap 145% of the RDA of your essential fatty acid requirements. I love flax in smoothies, oatmeal, on yogurt or made into homemade energy bars.

Asparagus is one of my favorite superfoods and I love it prepared just about any way I can think of, whether grilled, sautéed, or raw. Asparagus is a great food to increase your sexiness. For starters, it is high in the B vitamin known as folate that aids in increasing the production of histamine. Histamine is important for a healthy sex drive in men and women, and folate is great for your mood and sense of well being. We all know you can’t feel sexy when you aren’t in a good mood. Asparagus also contains potassium, which helps you flush out excess water weight. This helps you feel and look slimmer, and ultimately feel sexier.
