Transform Your Tummy: A 45-Year-Old Woman's Journey with Kundalini Yoga, Tao Tantra, and Holistic Wellness

As I sit down to write this, I am reminded of the many mornings I've spent feeling frustrated with my reflection in the mirror. At 45, I’ve battled with stubborn fat around my tummy and waist that seemed to cling tighter with each passing year. Despite my efforts with various diets and exercise routines, this persistent problem area remained unchanged.

But this is not a story of defeat. It’s a story of transformation, empowerment, and embracing the holistic path of the Warrior Goddess.

The Turning Point

My journey began to shift when I stumbled upon the powerful practices of Kundalini Yoga. This ancient practice, known for its ability to awaken and balance the energy within, resonated with me deeply. It wasn’t just about losing weight; it was about reclaiming my body, mind, and spirit. As a practitioner of Tao Tantra and Breathwork, I knew the power of integrating these transformative practices, and Kundalini Yoga seemed like the perfect addition to my wellness routine.

Creating a Routine: Embracing the Warrior Goddess Within

Morning Ritual: Setting the Intention

Every morning, I start my day with a simple yet powerful aromatherapy session. I use the Warrior Goddess aromatherapy line, where the main ingredient is moringa-based oil, to anoint my pulse points. The scent not only invigorates my senses but also sets a sacred tone for the day.

Warm-Up: Awakening the Energy

  • Spinal Flexes: Sit in Easy Pose and begin flexing your spine forward and backward, synchronizing your movements with deep breaths. This warms up the spine and activates the energy centers.
  1. Stretch Pose (Uttanpadasana):

    • Lie on your back with legs extended and arms at your sides.
    • Lift your head, shoulders, and legs about six inches off the ground.
    • Focus on your toes, keep your lower back pressed into the mat, and hold for 1-2 minutes while breathing deeply.
  2. Leg Lifts:

    • Inhale and lift both legs up to a 90-degree angle.
    • Exhale and lower them down without touching the ground.
    • Repeat for 1-3 minutes.
  3. Kundalini Frog Pose:

    • Stand on your toes with your heels touching, knees bent, and fingers touching the ground in front of you.
    • Inhale and straighten your legs, bringing your hips up while keeping your fingers on the ground.
    • Exhale and return to the squatting position.
    • Repeat for 1-3 minutes.

Energy Balancing and Breathwork

  • Sat Kriya:
    • Sit on your heels in Rock Pose (Vajrasana).
    • Extend your arms overhead with the elbows straight and the upper arms hugging your ears.
    • Interlace your fingers, with the index fingers extended and pointing straight up.
    • Chant "Sat" as you pull your navel in, and "Nam" as you relax your belly. Continue for 3-11 minutes.

Deep Relaxation and Meditation

  • Bow Pose (Dhanurasana):

    • Lie on your stomach with your arms at your sides.
    • Bend your knees and reach back to grab your ankles.
    • Inhale and lift your chest and legs off the ground, pulling your ankles to lift your thighs.
    • Hold the pose for 1-3 minutes while breathing deeply.
  • Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana):

    • Lie on your stomach with your palms under your shoulders.
    • Inhale and lift your chest off the ground, straightening your arms partially or fully while keeping your pelvis on the ground.
    • Hold the pose for 1-2 minutes while breathing deeply.

Closing with Breath of Fire and Meditation

  • Ego Eradicator:
    • Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine.
    • Extend your arms up at a 60-degree angle.
    • Curl your fingertips onto the pads at the base of your fingers, with the thumbs pointing straight up.
    • Practice Breath of Fire (rapid, rhythmic breath) for 1-3 minutes.

Evening Ritual: Surrender and Reflect

As the day winds down, I take a moment to reflect and surrender. Incorporating Tao Tantra, I focus on balancing my feminine and masculine energies through mindful meditation. I light a scented candle infused with moringa oil and practice deep, slow breathing to calm my mind and body.

The Transformation

Incorporating Kundalini Yoga into my daily routine has not only helped reduce the stubborn fat around my tummy and waist but also transformed my overall well-being. The combination of physical exercise, breathwork, and meditation has brought balance and harmony to my life. It has reminded me of the power within, the Warrior Goddess that resides in each of us.
